NOTES

  1. Buried 5th February 1781, Lonan, aged about 34
  2. Baptised 28th Sept 1746, the son of Richard Mylroie & Mary Quark, Richard's third wife
  3. Married Elizabeth Callow 14th December 1771. Six daughters: Margaret (1772), Esther (1774), Mary (1775), Ellinor (1777), Ann (1779), Jane (1781)
  4. Uncles John & David correspond with Richard Mylroies 1749 will 'which mentions sons John & David (& William & Thomas & Richard jnr)
  5. Wife Elizabeth died 1788; daughters Ellinor & Jane not identified in Elizabeth's will so presumably they had died between 1781 and 1788
  6. Esther might have married James Carrett in Braddan in 1800
  7. This branch of the Lonan Mylroie clan had no male descendants
  8. There is frequently confusion between this William Mylroie, b 1746, and his cousin William Mylroie b1754
  9. Lonan parish registers from the early 1700s are far from complete so extreme caution must be exercised when attempting to draw conclusions about these families and their relationships
